  1. To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Regina Barmore and I am co-owner of a rapidly growing, family owned, home care agency serving 3 counties, Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz. There have been several changes to the Home Care business over the few months. As of January 1, 2016 the State of California has mandated through AB1217 that all home care agencies in California be licensed and that all caregivers or personal attendants be registered through the Department of Social Services. We have worked long and hard and have succeeded in obtaining our license (#434700019). All of our caregivers have been fingerprinted and have been registered by the State. We would like to share our information with you through one on one meetings or through speaking engagements regarding these changes and the other requirements that Home Care agencies must comply with and how these changes will impact the community.
At some point in our life, we will be faced with the fact that one of our loved ones needs extra care in the home. According to AARP, 92% of our seniors would rather stay in their homes than be moved to a facility. The goal of our company is to inform the community about their options. Having all the facts in hand and being able to make an informed decision will go a long way to lessen the stress for the family and their senior during this time. Below, is a list of some of the topics that we would like to share with you or with your group.
Topics of presentations we offer, free of charge, are as follows:
Planning for the Future-Custodial care at home, LTCI, VA, AHCD. (Unfortunately, many of our Veterans are not aware of the free benefits they can receive from the VA with regard to home care. We have the information they need.)
Seeking Care Within the Home (Full Service vs. Referral Agencies vs. Private Hire)
Elder Abuse and Scams That Affect the Elder Community
    Flu Prevention and the Elderly
    Elder Nutrition
    Dermatology-Elder Skin Care
    Exercise As You Age
These speaking engagements are our way to give back to the community. We are passionate about caring for our seniors and our goal is to make sure that the community is aware and informed.
These presentations are informational only. We do not talk about our company, nor do we expect your group to use us if the need arises. Also, we do not accept monetary compensation for our presentation. Please keep us in mind if you are in need of a speaker for one of your events or if you need any further information regarding home care on a personal level or if any of your clients are in need of extra help in their homes. We can also fill in at a moments notice if one of your scheduled speakers is unable to be there.
    Thank you for your consideration,
